Description: This session explores how modern fraud actors are leveraging artificial intelligence, deepfake technology, and the cybercrime underground economy to defeat Know Your Customer (KYC) controls and conduct large-scale impersonation fraud. Drawing on real-world examples and intelligence from frontline investigations, the presentation walks through how identity documents, personal data, and AI-enabled tools—including face swaps, voice synthesis, and image manipulation—are commoditized and readily available to threat actors. Attendees will gain insight into how these capabilities are operationalized to bypass identity verification, the risks they pose to financial institutions and their customers.

Biography: Eric leads TD Bank’s Adversary Intelligence and Disruption team, where he focuses on understanding and countering the evolving tactics of cyber‑enabled financial criminals. With deep experience across fraud, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, he is committed to using intelligence‑driven insights to safeguard people, organizations, and critical financial infrastructure. Throughout his career, Eric has built and led specialized investigative and intelligence teams at JPMorgan Chase, Honeywell International, and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). His work spans the full spectrum of modern financial crime, from account takeovers and ransomware to social engineering and identity‑based fraud. Eric holds an MBA from the University of Florida along with several industry certifications. Program Cancellation Policy:
If you have registered and/or paid for an event and you need to cancel, you must cancel online through your account no later than 48 hours prior to the event, unless otherwise indicated in specific event policies, to request a refund and/or cancel your registration. In the event the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. must cancel an event, the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. will immediately email all registrants using the email accounts provided during the registration.
The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc.’s email will notify all registrants they will be reimbursed a full refund in the same way they paid or notify all registrants of a rescheduled date for the event if the registrant is available. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. must confirm event registrations with the venue prior to the event, and any changes after this time period can become a financial cost to the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. reserves the right to decide on what percentage charge/refund will be returned for cancellations made after the cutoff date. The default condition is that cancellations made after the cutoff date will be charged at 100%, and/or no refunds will be allowed.
The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. media relations officer would post on all social media platforms notifying members of the cancellation, and the webmaster would also post the cancellation on the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. website. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc.’s cancellation policy is intended to keep costs low for attendees.
Due to financial obligations incurred by the chapter, you must cancel your registration 48 hours before the start of the event. No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received on or after the event's start date. Those who do not cancel and do not attend are responsible for the full registration fee.
Program Refund Policy:
In the event the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. determines that partial charges or refunds will be allowed, they will be made on a case-by-case basis. In the event the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. must refund an event, the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. will immediately email all registrants using the email accounts provided during the registration. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc.’s email will notify all registrants they will be refunded in the same way they paid or notify all registrants of a rescheduled date for the event if the registrant is available.
If an attendee does not show up to the event, the registration cost will be forfeited. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. reserves the right to bar future registrations for any attendees who routinely register and fail to pay and/or attend the event. Group Internet-Based Attendance Policy:
Although the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. acknowledges that it is the participant’s responsibility to report the appropriate number of credits earned, it consistently maintains a process to monitor individual attendance at group programs to guarantee the correct allocation of CPE credits. The organization recognizes that a participant’s self-certification of attendance alone is insufficient. When conducting group internet-based programs, three polling questions per CPE credit are implemented to establish a real-time monitoring mechanism that verifies participant engagement during the course. These three polling questions per CPE credit are administered at sufficiently frequent intervals and are unpredictable, ensuring that attendees remain engaged throughout the session. Attendee participation is tracked via SLIDO, an application that facilitates real-time engagement through live polls, Q&As, and quizzes. It is the responsibility of attendees to accurately report CPE credits based on their actual time attending the sessions. While the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. recognizes that it is the participant’s responsibility to report the appropriate number of credits earned, the ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. continually maintains a process to monitor individual attendance at group programs to ensure the correct number of CPE credits are assigned. The ACFE New Jersey 9, Inc. recognizes that the participant’s self-certification of attendance alone is not sufficient.
When offering group internet-based programs, we implement three polling questions per CPE credit to ensure a real-time monitoring mechanism that verifies attendees are participating during the course. The three polling questions per CPE credit are at a sufficient frequency and lack predictability to ensure the attendees have been engaged throughout the course. The attendee’s completed interactivity is tracked via SLIDO, an application that ensures real-time engagement with participants with live polls, Q&As, and quizzes. It is the attendees' responsibility to accurately report CPE based on actual time attending conference sessions.
After the program, you will receive a short survey asking you to evaluate the programs. The CPE certificate is generated upon completion of the survey and may be printed or saved as a PDF. You must take the survey to get your CPE certificate - we are not able to print CPE certificates for you. The survey will be sent to the email address used to register for the conference.
